A year has flown by. I only started posting on Substack in July 2022, but I had been scribbling down ideas and loose thoughts in the months before. The plan was to document the first year I would be able (with the help of a grant) to dedicate my time completely to my art practice.
The plan was also to mainly focus on the themes from to fear with grace, the video game I was working on. And I did just that, at least in the beginning.
However, as I started getting closer to finishing the game, the subjects of my writing became broader and less tied to the game, I made other artworks. I wasn’t able to quite anticipate where it would all go from there. Leaving the outcome open, letting this newsletter be subject to change, was a struggle, perhaps an important one.
